The eightieth Strand Group event, in partnership with HM Treasury where a panel of Ed Balls, Baroness Jay, Sir Tim Lankester and Lord Macpherson will discuss the 50th Anniversary of the IMF Crisis.

Panelists

Ed Balls, UK Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer (2011-2015), Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families (2007-2010) Presenter of Good Morning Britain and Political Currency.  Ed is a Professor with The Strand Group at King’s College, London.

Baroness Jay, Labour party peer and former Leader of the House of Lords and Visiting Professor at King’s College London. Daughter of James Callaghan.

Sir Tim Lankester, Economist and public servant, Sir Tim worked at the British Embassy in Washington and as a Private Secretary to James Callaghan and Margaret Thatcher.

Lord Macpherson, Permanent Secretary to the Treasury from 2005 to 2016 and Visiting Professor at King’s College London.
