Stephen Lovegrove: ‘Future Challenges for the Ministry of Defence’

Stephen Lovegrove, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Defence, addressed the 27^th meeting of King’s College London’s Strand Group on Tuesday 20^thMarch 2018. Speaking on the topic of ‘Future Challenges for the Ministry of Defence’, the Permanent Secretary addressed issues relating to deterrence, technology, personnel and value for money in a wide-ranging and engaging speech.

Following the lecture, Mr Lovegrove answered questions from a diverse audience of King’s College London students and academics, former and current government officials, and prominent figures from the worlds of media, journalism and business. A broad range of topics were broached in the Q&A, ranging from procurement and modernisation to training and the upcoming defence review, and Mr Lovegrove spent a great deal of time answering the audience’s questions. A drinks reception followed.
